He was rushed to Hull Royal Infirmary and returned to Liverpool soon after. He is expected to make a full recovery, despite being quoted as having endured the “most frightening moment of [his] life”. Enquiries are being staged in order to conclude exactly how Mr.Latimer was allowed to be exposed to the drug, but the authorities are keen to point out that this incident and that involving Miss Leach on the same evening are unrelated.

The 21-year old was studying at the University of Lincoln’s Hull campus, and her death was attributed to a previous health condition. Interim toxicology tests showed no evidence of drink spiking.
