Elisabeth Esselink, aka Solex, enlisted the help of duo Jon Spencer and Cristina Martinez to create Amsterdam Throw Down King Street Showdown! The result? A perfect mix of fun lyrics, funky beats and seriously soulful blues which work impeccably well together and create a unique and revolutionary sound. R is for Ring-a-Ding is arguably the best song and I challenge anybody to listen to it without nodding their head. If ever there was an album to encourage the sun to come out with his hat on, this is it.
