The greatest week of life is almost upon us. For some of us, not for the first time. While we are all hyperactive with anticipation and excitement, there are a few things we shouldn’t forget when packing our bags. Firstly, your bag should be as small as possible. Take only the essentials. These comprise of:
- Socks and pants (the silkier the better)
- A pair of jeans
- Summer clothing (preferably some swimwear)
- Prophylactics – better safe than sorry!
- Suncream and aftersun
- Flipflops and sunglasses (although these can be bought in Salou for 2 Euros)
All of the above can be bought in Primark (with the exception of condoms!) and this is where you should be shopping. Clothes will not come back in original condition when cohabiting with teammates, if at all, so take your most expensive outfit with you at your own risk. The same applies for sports equipment. Go to the beach or stay at the hotel pool and enjoy the atmosphere that is TOUR. There are also a few things that you must CONSIDER whether to take on tour:
- A camera or iPod
- Self respect
- Dignity
- A moral compass
- A girl/boy friend
- Sobriety (drink in moderation)
You are on tour to enjoy tour. You cannot enjoy it if you have a stick up your bottom. If you do, remove it before you get to Dover so we can all laugh at how fat every other university’s cheerleaders are. So in summary, pack your bag using the following advice: fancy socks and frilly knickers good, arrogance and pride bad.
