Blockbuster have recently created a new deal where you can rent any DVD for just 99p on any weekday – they advertise this as “the perfect hangover cure!”. This may well be the case, as I know after a heavy night of drinking games and general frivolity I like nothing better the next day to sit in my PJs and watch a film. However, I also know I usually feel too rough to leave the house, never mind to trek all the way down to Blockbuster.
Another little downside to this attractive offer is the fact that the DVD has to be returned at 6pm the same day, which is around the same time I manage to get dressed when I have a hangover. If rental isn’t your thing but you’re still after a bargain DVD, charity shops in the town centre, especially Barnardo’s, have an ever-increasing amount of good DVDs for ridiculously cheap prices. Perhaps you could buy one of these at the same time as pursuing that vital fancy dress costume!
